Welcome to CarboHeroes

We scale biochar and will remove 500 million tons of CO2 until 2050.

Guiding Principles

To achieve this, we are establishing a circular economy model that utilises biochar production and application, combining sustainable agriculture with substantial carbon reduction.

01

The Climate can't Wait.

Permanent carbon removal is one of the keys to combating climate change. But beyond that, these solutions should already be at the service of people today. Preserving livelihoods, improving soils, securing good jobs, implementing education and technology are the goal and task of the CarboHeroes in addition to the permanent binding of CO2 through biochar. to work with us, know that you are consistently choosing quality and excellence. 02

Combining Impact and Climate Action.

The income from carbon credits allows us to provide the produced biochar at cost or completely free of charge. The biochar is incorporated into agricultural land to improve soils. Side effects are improved water retention, nutrients close to the roots and a habitat where humus build-up is favored. For production, we use only organic matter that would otherwise be composted or incinerated.

03

Scaling to Increase the Impact.

We have been intensively researching the use of feedstock in Latin America and South America. Unfortunately, significant amounts of waste are generated in the production of basic food ingredients primarily consumed in the Global North. Examples include sugar cane, pineapple, nutshells, cascara, and various types of wood.

At CarboHeroes, we exclusively scale using feedstocks that have no better use, transforming waste into valuable materials and compensating for it. By doing so, we also raise awareness of the potential inherent in organic materials.

We are eager to explore collaboration opportunities that foster sustainable change.

In an exciting collaboration, CarboHeroes, coffee roaster 19grams, and the environmental organisation Humedales Lagunas Lancaster have joined forces to make a substantial impact on jaguar conservation in Costa Rica. By launching two exclusive coffee varieties, this partnership promises to delight coffee enthusiasts while championing nature conservation. Proceeds from these unique coffee sales directly fund the regeneration and expansion of a crucial nature reserve in Costa Rica, supporting the protection and preservation of these magnificent creatures amongst other wildlife. Find the project here
